A year later, she completed her research fellowship in oral medicine at Baylor University in 1987. She also holds a Certificate in Periodontics from UT Health San Antonio (1989).
Active in dental organizations for most of her career, Dr. Finney was President of the Alaska State Dental Hygienists’ Society, and was the first woman to serve as President of the California Dental Association in 2004. Currently, she is serving as a California Dental Association Delegate to the American Dental Association, and as a Board Member of the American Dental Political Action Committee.
In good standing with a number of professional organizations, she is a member of the Sacramento District Dental Society, the California Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the California Society of Periodontists, the American Academy of Periodontology, the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists, the Academy of Dentistry International, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
