Passion for Lifelong Learning and Advocacy for Newborns Define Her Career Journey

Palo Alto, California – Jessica Nagra, RN, BSN, MSN, RNC-NIC, a passionate and dedicated Registered Nurse Certified in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing, is making significant strides in improving patient outcomes for newborns and their families at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford. With a solid educational foundation and extensive hands-on experience, Jessica embodies the commitment to excellence in neonatal care.

Her nursing journey began at the University of San Francisco School of Nursing and Health Professions, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2016. Jessica’s unwavering dedication to advancing patient care propelled her to pursue a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on Clinical Nurse Leadership, which she completed in 2021. Furthering her expertise, she completed her post-master’s Certificate in Neonatal Clinical Nurse Specialization at the University of California, San Francisco in December 2024.

In her current role as a Neonatal Clinical Quality Practice Specialist, Jessica is instrumental in enhancing practices within the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Her focus on patient safety and care standards ensures that newborns receive the highest quality of care during their most critical moments. 

Jessica’s extensive experience in various nursing roles, including Assistant Nurse Manager and Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse at Kaiser Permanente, has equipped her with the skills necessary to advocate effectively for patients in high-pressure environments. Beyond her clinical roles, Jessica has also demonstrated her commitment to serving diverse populations, having provided care to visually impaired clients ranging from toddlers to seniors at LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired. This experience honed her ability to facilitate medication management and daily living activities using innovative non-visual techniques.

An active member of the National Association of Neonatal Nurses (NANN) and the American Nurses Association (ANA), Jessica remains deeply involved in the nursing community. She is an enthusiastic reader of the NANN Journal and is eager to contribute her insights through authorship in future publications.
