Dr. Artuso graduated with his medical degree from Cetec University, School of Medicine in the Dominican Republic.  After obtaining his Medical Degree Dr. Artuso relocated to the United States and completed his internship with the Westchester Medical Center, followed by a general surgery residency with the New York Medical College – Metropolitan Hospital Center. Wanting to further his training he returned to the Westchester Medical Center and completed his fellowship. He is dual certified in General Surgery and Bariatric Surgery by the American Board of Surgery.   Dr. Artuso currently practices with St. John’s Riverside Hospital. He is also affiliated with Phelps Memorial Hospital Center, Nyack Hospital, and St. Francis Hospital.

Bariatric Surgery includes a variety of procedures performed on people who have obesity. Weight loss is achieved by reducing the size of the stomach with a gastric band or through removal of a portion of the stomach known as sleeve gastrectomy or biliopancreatic diversion or by resecting and re-routing the small intestine to a small stomach pouch, known as gastric bypass surgery.
