Dr. Ristad is board-certified in Ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO). The ABO is an independent, nonprofit organization responsible for certifying ophthalmologists (eye physicians and surgeons) in the United States. The organization certifies ophthalmologists who have completed an accredited ophthalmic residency training program and demonstrated the required level of knowledge, skills, and experience in ophthalmology. Additionally, Dr. Ristad is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Ristad received his medical degree from Mayo Clinic School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota. Thereafter, he completed his ophthalmology residency at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine.
