A distinguished mental health counselor and educator with over 30 years of experience, Dorothy Derapelian continues to profoundly contribute to mental health and child welfare in Meredith, New Hampshire.
As the creator of Core Attachment Therapy©, she has dedicated her career to improving the lives of children and families through specialized therapeutic practices and education.
In her private practice, she has focused on play therapy, utilizing innovative techniques to foster emotional growth and resilience in children. On a more personal note, Dorothy attributes her success to her “laser focus on making the world a better place for children.” This mission is personal to her, as she adopted her daughter Nara from Russia in 1995, further fueling her passion for advocating for children and families.
Outside of her professional endeavors, she enjoys a range of hobbies that promote physical and mental well-being, including tennis, biking, hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and gardening. These activities provide her with balance and joy, which she believes are essential to maintaining a healthy mindset.
