Dr. Megahed, a Pediatric Interventional Radiology Fellow at Boston Children’s Hospital is working hard to expand the field of Interventional Radiology, combining her passion for education and global health outreach. Originally from Cairo, Egypt, she earned her medical degree and completed her Radiology Residency at Ain Shams University, one of the leading medical institutions in the Middle East. Her training provided her with a solid foundation in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology.
As an Assistant Lecturer of Radiology at Ain Shams University, Dr. Megahed was deeply committed to education and mentorship. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge and experiences with the next generation of radiologists, emphasizing the importance of combining technical expertise with compassionate patient care.
Dr. Megahed’s interest in interventional radiology—a subspecialty that uses minimally invasive procedures guided by imaging technology—reflects her commitment to innovative patient care. She completed a Radiology residency at Yale New Haven Health, Bridgeport Hospital, where she served as chief resident followed by an Interventional Radiology fellowship at the prestigious Dotter Interventional Institute, and now is receiving subspecialized training in Pediatric Interventional Radiology at Boston’s Children Hospital. By utilizing these techniques, she can help treat various conditions with less risk and quicker recovery times for her adult and pediatric patients. Her clinical work exemplifies her dedication to providing high-quality healthcare while exploring new methods to improve patient outcomes.
In addition to her clinical and educational responsibilities, she is involved in global outreach initiatives. She recognizes the disparities in healthcare access and aims to bridge these gaps through her work.
