Dr. Sandhu earned his MD degree from Saba University School of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, MD, followed by a Nephrology fellowship at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC. His interest in nephrology was sparked during his first year of medical school when he was introduced to renal physiology. With a solid foundation in Biochemistry and Human Biology, Dr. Sandhu quickly connected with the complexities of acid-base and electrolyte disorders, which further solidified his passion for this specialty.
During his medical training, Dr. Sandhu served as a teaching assistant for renal physiology, demonstrating his dedication to sharing knowledge and educating others. His residency provided him with invaluable experience working with a diverse dialysis population and a variety of kidney-related diseases, reinforcing his decision to pursue a career in nephrology.
Dr. Sandhu emphasizes the importance of patient education in managing kidney disease.
