Board-certified General and Vascular Surgeon Dr. Strachan has the training, education and experience to ensure quality care for the complex issues associated with arteries,veins and lymphatic circulation. His focus is on the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of vascular disease by performing angioplasty, endovascular surgery, sclerotherapy as well as minimally invasive surgical procedures.
Dr. Strachan earned his medical degree from the Superior Institute of Science in Havana, Cuba and trained at the Cuba General Calixto Garcia Hospital also in Cuba. He completed his residency at Waterbury Hospital Health Center, a 357 bed hospital affiliated with Yale University. He gained a fellowship at Stony Brook University Hospital, the largest academic medical center on Long Island with 603 beds for patient care.
Dr. Strachan is certified by the American Board of Surgery in Vascular Surgery and holds a CT State Medical License. Furthermore, he is affiliated with Waterbury Hospital and Saint Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury and Griffin Hospital in Derby, CT, he is also a proud member of Vascular Access Society of the Americas and the Society of Vascular Surgery – American College of Surgeons.
