Dr. Shillingburg earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree in 2020 from Rocky Vista University in Denver, Colorado. He attended both residency and fellowship at the University of Tennessee, making him double board certified in Family and Emergency Medicine. He joined teamhealth providers as an emergency physician, and was recently announced as the Lifestar assistant director where he enjoys teaching through hands-on experiences and traditional didactics.
In his role at UT Medical Center, Dr. Shillingburg focuses on immediate decision-making and actions necessary to prevent death or further disability in emergencies. His expertise encompasses the evaluation, care, stabilization, and disposition of a diverse patient population experiencing acute illnesses and injuries. Because of his additional background in Family Medicine, he never misses an opportunity to incorporate preventative strategies and continuity of care.
