Dr. Vuu, a board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, is a Partner at Memorial Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, operating out of the offices in Houston and Cypress, Texas.

Born in Saigon, Vietnam, Dr. Vuu came to America when he was 2 years old. His family initially settled in Pennsylvania but moved to Sugar Land, Texas in 1990. 

Upon graduating from Dulles High School, Dr. Vuu attended Eastern Mennonite University. He subsequently moved back to Houston and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Texas Dental Branch where he graduated at the top of his class and was elected into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. 

Following dental school, Dr. Vuu was accepted into the dual-degree Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at the University of Texas Dental Branch where he received extensive training in facial trauma, jaw reconstruction, dental implant procedures, sedation, bone grafting, wisdom teeth removal, dental extractions, and corrective jaw surgery. As part of his training, he received his Doctor of Medicine Degree from the University of Texas at Houston Medical School and also completed a one-year internship in general surgery at the same institution. 

Board certified, Dr. Vuu is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS). The ABOMS ensures that Diplomates meet the standards of training, education, and professionalism through the certification process. 

Actively engaged in several professional organizations that reflect his commitment to the field of dentistry and oral surgery, Dr. Vuu is a dedicated member of the Texas Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the American Medical Association, the Houston Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, the Greater Houston Dental Society, where he serves on the New Dentist Committee, as well as the Houston Asian American Dental Society, where he serves as the Community Volunteer Director.

Oral and maxillofacial surgery specializes in surgery of the face, mouth, and jaws. It is an internationally recognized surgical specialty. Oral and maxillofacial surgeons are dental specialists who treat conditions, defects, injuries, and esthetic aspects of the mouth, teeth, jaws, and face. Their training involves a four-year graduate degree in dentistry and the completion of a minimum four-year hospital surgical residency program.

For his outstanding contributions to the dental and healthcare fields, Dr. Vuu has received notable recognition, including the prestigious Top Dentists 2020 Award and the distinction of Houston’s Top Docs 2014.

Happily married, he and his wife, Tu Pham, have two children, Nathan and Natalie. They love traveling, going to new restaurants, and trying different foods.

In his spare time, Dr. Vuu likes to hang out with his family, run, bike, swim, watch sports, and work on his golf game.
