A native of Argentina, Dr. Kloosterman graduated with his medical degree from the University of Buenos Aires in 1989, and completed his residency in internal medicine at Academia Nacional de Medicina/ Fundación Hermenegilda H. Pombo in 1991. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital in 1995, followed by two consecutive fellowships in cardiovascular disease and cardiac electrophysiology at the same educational venue in 1998 and 1999, respectively.

In pursuit of clinical excellence, the doctor is board-certified in cardiac electrophysiology and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Maintaining fellowship status, he is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), and Fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society (FHRS).

Among his professional affiliations, Dr. Kloosterman holds hospital privileges at Broward General Medical Center, Holy Cross Hospital, Boca Raton Regional Hospital, Delray Medical Center, West Boca Raton Community Hospital, Northwest Medical Center, and North Broward Medical Center.

Clinical cardiac electrophysiology (also referred to as cardiac electrophysiology, arrhythmia services, or electrophysiology), is a branch of the medical specialty of cardiology and is concerned with the study and treatment of rhythm disorders of the heart. An electrophysiologist is a type of cardiologist. They focus on the heart’s timing, or electrical system, and on diagnosing and treating irregular heartbeats or arrhythmias. They are also qualified to perform special tests of the heart’s electrical system, such as an electrophysiology study or an ablation.
