Dr. Barroso-Herrans graduated with her Doctor of Optometry in 1986, from the Inter-American University-School of Optometry giving her over three decades of experience in her field. She then completed her Residency in Pediatrics at the UAB-Optometry School, in Birmingham, Alabama in 1988.
Dr. Barroso-Herrans currently practices with the VA Caribbean Healthcare System. Their mission is to server and honor the men and women who are America’s veterans.

Dr Barroso-Herrans’s father was a medical doctor. She was always interested in optometry. She attributes her success to her love for the profession, family support, and drive.
