Erica is a family nurse practitioner (FNP) who is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She is currently serving patients at Mercy Clinic Family Medicine – Willow Springs. Her parents were also healthcare professionals. “The medical field has always been around me. I have always loved the intricacy of the human body and find medicine to be very fascinating. I guess the love of medicine and health care was something that God had planned for me all along” said Erica.
Erica earned her Associate’s degree in Nursing and General Studies from Southwest Missouri State in 2003. She then went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Southeast Missouri State University in 2014, followed by her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from the same University in 2017.
Erica attributes her success to God. He has been her guiding force, leading her where He wanted her to be all along. She also feels that the support of her family has always been something that has helped her to become who she is today and all that she has succeeded in.
When asked what motivates her at the start of each day, Erica said that it is her love for her profession and her patients. She strives to make a difference in their lives by attending to their individual needs, learning from them, as well as getting to know them on a personal level and connecting with them.
In order to stay up to date in her field, Erica maintains a professional membership with the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Family nurse practitioners (FNP) are advanced practice registered nurses who work autonomously or in collaboration with other healthcare professionals to deliver family-focused care.
