With a strong family legacy in dentistry, Dr. King is a fourth-generation Meharrian and dentist. She practices at Sebastian Smiles Pediatric Dentistry, providing preventative and restorative pediatric dental care to the Treasure Coast community one pediatric smile at a time. Her expertise includes sedation dentistry, first dental visits, comprehensive care, preventive and restorative procedures, trauma, and anticipatory guidance for the pediatric dental population. With a solid educational background, Dr. King obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, and subsequently gained three years of experience as a professional healthcare representative with Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Her educational journey continued as she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry in Nashville, Tennessee. Following this achievement, she completed a General Practice Residency at Harlem Hospital Center, which is affiliated with Columbia University in New York.
Her specialized training enabled her to concentrate on providing comprehensive, safe treatment to pediatric patients, including those with special healthcare needs, while also promoting parental literacy on overall dental health.
Following the completion of her General Practice Residency, Dr. King embarked on her career as a general dentist in the Tampa Bay area. During this time, she actively engaged with the community by organizing dental education programs for students and parents, participating in back-to-school supply drives for Pinellas County, and contributing to fundraising efforts for the local YMCA Autism awareness committee. After working as General Dentist for 4 years, she returned to Harlem Hospital Center in New York to complete her Pediatric Dental Residency. Since then, she has been excited to focus on providing care to the pediatric community.
Among her professional dental affiliations, Dr. King is an active member of the Florida Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Florida Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Laser Study Club, the Florida Cleft Palate Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the National Dental Association, the American Association of Women Dentists, the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Atlantic Coast Dental Association.
Board certified in pediatric dentistry, she is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD). The ABPD is the certifying board for the specialty of Pediatric Dentistry.
