Dr. Goshorn, a caring and compassionate pediatric ophthalmologist, is the Founder of Pediatric Eye Care & Strabismus, P.C. in Rock Hill, South Carolina. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of all pediatric eye problems, and in the surgical treatment of adults suffering from strabismus and double vision.

Pediatric Eye Care and Strabismus, P.C. is the only eye care practice dedicated to the specialized diagnosis and treatment of children’s eye problems within the Piedmont area of North Carolina and the entire state of South Carolina. The staff are specifically trained to work with children and their parents. 

A participant in the education of pediatric residents, Dr. Goshorn serves as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine at Chapel Hill. She holds hospital privileges at Carolinas Medical Center Main, Carolinas Medical Center University, Carolinas Medical Center Pineville, Presbyterian Hospital Main, Presbyterian Hospital Matthews, and Presbyterian Hospital Huntersville in the Charlotte area. She also holds hospital privileges at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

Among her professional affiliations, she is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, the Charlotte Pediatric Society, the Charlotte Ophthalmology Society, the North Carolina Medical Society, and the Mecklenburg County Medical Society.

Throughout her academic career, Dr. Goshorn graduated with a triple major in Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology from Heidelberg University in Tiffin, Ohio in 1982. She received her medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine in 1986. Following her residency in ophthalmology at Saint Francis Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she completed her subspecialty fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at Scottish Rite Children’s Medical Center in Atlanta, Georgia in 1991. 

Practicing her subspecialty in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus in the Charlotte region for over two decades, she is board-certified through the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO). The ABO is an independent, non-profit organization responsible for certifying ophthalmologists in the United States of America.

Among her most notable achievements, Dr. Goshorn is the only pediatric ophthalmologist in the Charlotte and Rock Hill areas to be admitted as a Subspecialty Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She was voted by her physician peers for the “Top Doctors North Carolina” award, published in Business NC, July 2003, and also received the “Charlotte Top Doctors” award, published in Charlotte Magazine, July 2000.
