Eryn Harder: Championing Human-Centered Care as Nurse Manager at North Memorial’s TNICU

Innovative Leader Combines Personal Experience and Professional Expertise to Transform Trauma Care

Eryn Harder, a dedicated nurse manager at North Memorial Health’s Trauma and Neuro Intensive Care Unit (TNICU), is making significant strides in the field of trauma medicine. With a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Minnesota earned in 2004, Eryn’s journey in healthcare has been shaped by her personal experiences and professional commitment to delivering compassionate care.

Growing up, Eryn was an enthusiastic soccer player. Frequent injuries led her to the healthcare system, where she became familiar with medical environments and procedures. This early exposure ignited her passion for nursing and trauma care. Eryn began her career as a Dietary Aide, where she encountered a pivotal moment while caring for a trauma patient. This experience solidified her commitment to trauma medicine and human-centered care, allowing her to provide crucial support to patients during their most vulnerable moments.

Eryn understands that many individuals facing traumatic injuries often confront their challenges alone. This realization has fueled her dedication to ensuring that every patient feels supported and cared for during their stay in the TNICU. “It’s about more than just treating the injuries; it’s about providing comfort and reassurance during a time of fear and uncertainty,” Eryn explains. Her focus on human-centered care has made a significant impact on the patients and families she serves.

Throughout her career, Eryn has been profoundly influenced by her mentor, Lori Wildman. Lori’s guidance and support have been instrumental in Eryn’s professional development, helping her navigate the complexities of trauma care with confidence and compassion. “Lori has been my nurse mom and an incredible inspiration. Her leadership has shaped the way I approach my role,” Eryn shares.

At North Memorial’s Level 1 Trauma Center, Eryn skillfully integrates her educational background, personal experiences, and empathetic approach to deliver exceptional care to at-risk patients. Her commitment to trauma care and patient support underscores her vital role within the healthcare community, making her a valued leader in her field.
