Dr. Fridman’s acclaimed career in medicine began in 2006, when he graduated from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine. Upon earning his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree, he completed an internship at Northshore/LIJ Hospital and a residency at SUNY Downstate and Lutheran Medical Center. Dr. Fridman then undertook his fellowship training in Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic, where he studied under Dr. Raul Rosenthal, a renowned bariatric and general surgeon.
He is a highly trained and qualified surgeon with a vast expertise in all facets of his specialty, including laparoscopic banding, gastric sleeve and Roux-en-Y gastric bypass procedures, revisional bariatric surgery, and laparoscopic reflux and general surgical surgical procedures. Dr. Fridman is certified by the American Board of Osteopathic Surgery, and has earned the coveted titles of Fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. To keep up to date with the latest advances and developments in his field, he maintains a professional membership with several professional societies, including the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons,and the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons. With his wealth of experience and knowledge, Dr. Fridman was the first surgeon in Connecticut to perform the Orbera Gastric Balloon non-surgical weight loss procedure. Dr. Fridman has been in practice for more than five years, and is currently serving patients within Fairfield County Bariatrics & Surgical Specialists, P.C. in Norwalk, Shelton, Stamford, and North Haven, Connecticut. Furthermore, he is Director of Bariatric Surgery at The Griffin Hospital in Derby, Connecticut, and has hospital privileges at Norwalk Hospital and St. Vincent’s Medical Center.
