With a broad educational background, Dr. Nevel graduated with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine. He then went on to perform his residency in internal medicine at Hackensack Meridian Health-Palisades Medical Center, and his fellowship in cardiology at Deborah Heart & Lung Center, part of the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University. 

Helping patients maintain a heart-healthy life, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine.

In addition, he is board-certified in nuclear cardiology by the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology.

Continuously advancing his efforts, Dr. Nevel is a member of the American Association of Nuclear Cardiology, the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, the American Medical Association, the American Heart Association, the American Society of Echocardiography, the American College of Physicians, the American Osteopathic Association, and the New Jersey Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC).

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology. Cardiologists are doctors who diagnose, assess, and treat patients with diseases and defects of the heart and blood vessels (the cardiovascular system).

Throughout his line of work, Dr. Nevel has published widely in the Journal of Biological Chemistry, Oncotarget, Oral Oncology, and the Journal of the American Osteopathic Association. He has also presented at numerous professional conferences and symposia, and has been involved in various research projects since 2013. 

In his spare time, Dr. Nevel enjoys traveling and scuba diving, including holding a PADI certification for advanced open water diving.
