His acclaimed career in medicine began in 1978, when he graduated with his Medical Degree from the University Nacional Autónoma de México. After moving to the United States, Dr. Ibarra completed his internship and residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at University of California, Irvine Medical Center. Driven to further his knowledge and expertise, he undertook his fellowship with Long Beach Memorial Medical Center.
Dr. Ibarra is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, and in Cytopathology, and he is determined to enhance his patients’ quality of life, providing high quality, individualized care in order to ensure the most optimal results. He is recognized internationally for his special expertise in breast pathology, and is also regarded as a specialist in anatomic pathology, cytopathology and neuropathology. Dr. Ibarra has been published in numerous papers for his groundbreaking work in breast pathology.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Ibarra shares his wealth of experience and knowledge as a Clinical Professor of Pathology at the University of California, Irvine College of Medicine. He has served as President of the American Society of Breast Disease, and is committed to keeping current with the new developments in his field.
