Currently Associate Dean of Simmons College School of Nursing and Health Science, and affiliated with Massachusetts General Hospital, Dr.  Barron is a highly respected Psychiatric and Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist, possessing forty-six years of experience within multiple areas of psychiatric nursing.

After earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 1972 at Boston College, Dr. Barron completed her Master’s degree in Psychiatric Clinical Nursing at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and her Ph.D. at Boston College.   

In order to stay up to date on all medical advancements in her field, Dr. Barron maintains a professional membership with the American Nurses Association, the National Academies of Practice, and the Therapeutic Touch International Organization. She is also a Public Speaker for Massachusetts General Hospital.
