He is also affiliated with several different hospitals, including Mease Countryside Hospital. Featuring nearly four decades of experience in his field, he has a special expertise in interventional cardiology and cardiovascular diseases.
Dr. Sharma’s acclaimed career in medicine began in 1979, when he graduated with his Medical Degree from the Government Medical College in India. After medical school, he completed his residency in surgery and medicine within the same institution. Thereafter, Dr. Sharma relocated to the United States, where he would complete an additional residency with St. Luke’s Hospital in Cleveland. Driven to further his knowledge and expertise, he went on to undertake his fellowship training with Michael Reese Hospital and the University of Missouri. Dr. Sharma is dual board certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Sharma is committed to keeping current with the new developments, guidelines, and procedures in his field, and he has earned the coveted titles of Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, Fellow of the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions, and Fellow of the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography. He has dedicated his life to delivering the highest standard of quality and compassionate care to his patients, and he strives to provide the best outcomes possible. Dr. Sharma attributes his success to continuing his education, and when he is not assisting patients he enjoys playing golf and traveling.
