His distinguished medical career started in 1969 when he graduated from the Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. An internship followed at the Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, before Dr. Fried completed residencies at Washington University and at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital, both in St. Louis, Missouri.
Dr. Fried is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and has gained a worldwide reputation for excellence as an ear, nose and throat physician and surgeon. He is especially renowned as a rhinology and laryngology expert, and he diagnoses and treats a wide range of nose and voice related conditions. Expert procedures undertaken by him include rhinoplasty, endoscopic sinus surgery, tonsillectomy and surgical procedures to the larynx.
In recognition of his expertise, Dr. Fried has been awarded the coveted title of Fellow of the American College of Surgery and he currently serves as President of the American Laryngological Association as well as being a former President of the American Rhinologic Society. He has been presented with many awards during his long and successful career including an Honor Award by the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, and the Mark Award for Contributions to the Advancement of Laser Medicine and Surgery.
