Dr. Melinda Shoemaker is a highly experienced and acclaimed psychologist, whose career began after she gained a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the Union Institute Graduate School of Cincinnati, Ohio. She also holds a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and is certified in Substance Abuse Studies.

 

Calling upon her experience, Dr. Shoemaker provides counseling and therapy for a variety of patients, individuals, couples, and relationships, for a wide range of issues. Mental Health issues treated by her include depressive disorders, anxiety, phobias, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

Her area of specialty is working with college and university students.

 

Alongside her practice, Dr. Shoemaker also serves as a Professor of Psychology at Broward College, where she also teaches Psychology Courses. She is an active member of numerous professional organizations including the American Psychological Association, the American Association of College Student Personnel, and the Palm Beach County Mental Health Association.
