Get to know Dentist Dr. Fatima Vafai, who serves patients in San Jose, California.
A certified Invisalign and Laser dentist, Dr. Vafai built Sincere Smiles in San Jose, California from the ground up in July of 2010.
After gaining many years of experience in the dental field working for other dentists and also being a patient herself, she designed and built her office keeping the patient’s need and comfort in mind.
“Saving teeth and creating a smile that gives my patients more confidence and happiness is my greatest professional pleasure” expressed Dr. Vafai.
With a love for cosmetic dentistry, she enjoys giving her patients a happy, healthy smile. She and her team perform all aspects of dentistry from exams, cleanings, fillings and root canals to teeth whitening, Invisalign, and dental implants. It is their mission to preserve teeth and prevent dental infection using the latest techniques and technologies while earning the trust and respect of dental patients.
Born in the United States, Dr. Vafai moved overseas with her family as a child. She graduated among the top of her class from Isfahan Dental University and after practicing dentistry for a few years post graduation, she moved back to the United States.
Upon meeting all requirements, Dr. Vafai was certified by the Dental Board of California. Prior to establishing her practice, she gained further experience in family and cosmetic dentistry through having had the privilege of associating with several of the best dentists in the bay area.
Distinguished as a Fellow of the American General Dentistry (FAGD), Dr. Vafai has earned a minimum of 500 approved continuing education credits and passed a comprehensive 400-question examination on current topics and research techniques in dentistry.
In addition, she is an active member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, and the Santa Clara County Dental Society.
Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries, create beautiful smiles, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.
Issued by the International Association of HealthCare Professionals (IAHCP), Dr. Vafai has been selected to represent her community in the publication of The Leading Physicians of the World.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family (including her two children and life partner) and friends, dancing, playing Wii games, and keeping fit. She is a thrill seeker and enjoys thrilling experiences such as riding roller coasters. She also enjoys traveling and exploring new things.
