Holding over 35 years of experience in his field, Dr. Okamura graduated with his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry of the University of Alberta in 1987. He completed a Fellowship in Sports Medicine at the University of Alberta and a second Fellowship in Shoulder Upper Extremity Surgery at the California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco
Before long, he attained board certification in orthopedic surgery and orthopedic sports medicine through the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.
