Dr. Baltazar attended Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he graduated with a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree. After obtaining his doctorate, Dr. Baltazar completed his internship, residency and chief residency in general surgery with Wyckoff Heights Medical Center. To further advance his knowledge and expertise, he completed a Trauma/Surgical Critical Care fellowship with the New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ. Thereafter, he became a fellow with the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons.

Dr. Baltazar currently practices with the SBH Health System in the Bronx, New York and is the Director of Surgical Critical Care.

General surgeons not only perform operations for a wide range of common ailments, but are also responsible for patient care before, during, and after operation. General surgeons are trained to operate on the alimentary tract (esophagus and related organs), abdomen and its contents, breast, skin and soft tissue, and the endocrine system. Critical Care surgeons specialize in the intensive care of perioperative and trauma patients as well as manage operative complications.
