He completed his internship and residency training at Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital, Temple University Hospital, and USPHS Hospital (in affiliation with John Hopkins University, the University of Maryland in Baltimore, and the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda). He then went on to complete his fellowship training in radiation medicine/oncology and clinical pharmacology at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Sokol is certified in skin cancer medicine through training at the University of Queensland in Australia.
Dr. Sokol is board-certified in internal medicine and medical oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. Dr. Sokol is also board-certified in radiation oncology, quality assurance & utilization review, and clinical pharmacology. Dr. Sokol is a Fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacology.
