“Being a healthcare provider is a privileged position. Individuals provide a tremendous amount of trust in us and share the most intimate aspects of their lives. As a result we must treat them with the utmost respect and dignity. Each patient should be treated as a whole; mind, body, spirit and soul. These can not be separated. This requires good communication from the healthcare provider, a willingness to listen and a desire to serve” stated the doctor.

He then returned to Atlanta and completed his residency in general surgery at the Morehouse School of Medicine, and remained as faculty to his fellowship in minimally invasive surgery.

Subsequently, he joined a multispecialty group in Michigan City, Indiana, followed by 10 years on faculty at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine.

Recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), the doctor is board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS).
