Following her training, the doctor attained board certification in both internal medicine and geriatric medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). Dr. Lanman started her medical career as a full time faculty physician at Long Island Jewish’s Parker Institute. There, she established the Division of Geriatric Medicine which she directed for 6 years. She also served as Medical Director of the LIJ Home Care program, as well as ran a Day Program for the Frail Elderly at the Samuel Field Y. Subsequently, she was appointed Medical Director of the Home Hospice Program, where she made frequent house calls to patients approaching the end of life.
An active member of the teaching faculty of North Shore LIJ Medical Center, Dr. Lanman teaches medical residents in the ambulatory clinic, as well as trains fellows in geriatric medicine. She was also responsible for establishing and running the first Geriatric Assessment team in the hospital system, and is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.
