Education: Dr. Sotomayor graduated with his Bachelors of Science in Biology from the Universidad de Puerto Rico in 1976. He then attended and graduated with his Medical Degree from the Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine in Puerto Rico in 1980 giving him nearly four decades of experience in the medical/surgical field.
Experience: After obtaining his Medical Degree in the fully accredited Cayey School of Medicine in Puerto Rico, Dr. Sotomayor relocated to Akron/Cleveland Ohio and completed his internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology from the Summa Health System. He was one of the most outstanding residents in training and became Chief Resident in his last year. He developed multiple teaching courses in advanced laparoscopy and laser surgery procedures. He later became a fully certified cosmetic surgeon. He has served as a mentor to other physicians in the fields of surgery and has been a visiting professor in Latin America, Asia, Europe, and North America.
Current Position: Dr. Sotomayor currently practices with Gynecology and Cosmetic Surgery Center of Atlanta and Graceful Contours, where he is the President/CEO. He is also the President/CEO and Medical Director for Brighton Clinical Research Associates, where multiple clinical trials and research is conducted daily. He is also the Founder and Medical Director for Babies for Life Foundation a non-profit organization where ethical stem cell research and therapies have developed.
