The doctor’s journey into the medical profession began after he obtained his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree from the University of Mosul College of Medicine in Iraq in 1998. He completed his residency in general surgery at Aljumhoori Teaching Hospital in 1999, his residency in pediatrics at Ibn Seena Teaching Hospital in 2001, and his residency in Ibn anesthesiology at Al-Atheer Teaching Hospital in 2004. Upon relocating to the United States, he went on to complete his residency in family medicine at The University of Toledo College of Medicine, where he published “The Importance of Following ACC/AHA Cholesterol Guidelines 2013 by Residents’ Physicians to Reduce Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease in Different Populations” alongside Drs Kevin Phelps & Robert Gotfried.
Dedicated to his profession, Dr. Yousif is board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties.
Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor.
