Get to know Heather Collins-Grattan Floyd, working in Jupiter, Florida.

Heather has over 20+ years’ of experience as a writer/editor. She has been a medical editor at HashtagHealth Agency since October of 2022.

Her responsibilities include editing social-media posts, video captions/subtitles, and other marketing and communications collateral for pharmaceutical companies, including Alexion/AstraZeneca, Eisai, and Boston Scientific. 

Back in the early days of her academic career, Heather graduated with her high school diploma from Forest Hill Community High School. She then went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from the University of Florida in 1993, where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and a little sister at Phi Delta Theta fraternity.

Prior to her current endeavors, she worked as a medical copy editor at Medical Advantage (July 2018 – October 2022); a digital content strategist at PMP Marketing Group (November 2017 – June 2018); a marketing copywriter/project specialist II at Sprint (March 2017 – July 2017); a copywriter at Deluxe Rewards (March 2015 – December 2016); and at various other positions. 

Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2000 at age 29, Heather has been taking interferon beta 1- for over two decades. She continues to be asymptomatic with her integrative medicine approach, developing a simple system to keep her MS under control and using the acronym SYSTEMS to delineate this formula: Spirit, Your mind, Sleep, Temperature, Eat right, Medication, and Supplements. 

On a professional level, she is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Palm Beach, the World Affairs Council of Palm Beach, Palm Beach Round Table, and Zeta Tau Alpha alumnae.

Throughout her extensive career, Heather has been a guest on TV and radio programs, including CTN TV (2012 and 2019) and WTAN radio (2019). She was a contributing writer to “Nelson’s New Christian Dictionary” (Thomas Nelson, 2001), and edited the book “2017 Advent Devotionals for Christmas” by the Rev. W. Jack Noble. 

A brilliant writer, she is the author of “Game Over, MS” (2019), “An Open Letter to Charles Krauthammer” (2018), “Trump in the Middle: Why America Needs a Middle Child This Time Around” (2016), and “The Compatibility Matrix: The Qualities of YOUR Ideal Mate” (2011). She also devised a 3-year Bible-reading plan which is published in the HCSB/CSB Study Bible (Holman Christian Standard Bible, Broadman & Holman Publishers, 2010 and 2017).

Happily married, Heather lives in Florida with her husband, Kevin, and their pit-bull and bichon frisé, Jigsaw and Ketchup. She is an ordained elder and deacon in the Presbyterian Church.
