Meet esteemed board certified Dr. Evelyne Kalyoussef, Otolaryngology, head and neck surgeon with University Hospital, Doctor’s Office Center (DOC).
Dr Kayousseff is a specialist in adult and pediatric otolaryngology, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, head and neck oncology, transoral robotic surgery, sialendoscopy, laryngology and sleep medicine. She is also a subspecialist of Pediatric Otolaryngology which focuses on disorders of the ear, nose, and throat of newborns, infants, and children. She has the unique skills necessary to provide specialized and state-of-the-art care to the pediatric population. She has an interest in diagnosing and treating children with complex congenital malformations as well as addressing long term respiratory and pulmonary care for sick children in the Neonatal ICU.
With a wealth of knowledge and board certification in Otolaryngology by the American Board of Otolaryngology, Dr. Kalyoussef’s skills are in high demand. She treats patients with disorders of the ear, nose, throat, and related surrounding structures in the head and neck. She is also an associate professor in the Otolaryngology Department at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School.
Dr. Kalyosseff earned her medical degree in 2007 from Robert Wood Johnson, the medical school of Rutgers University. She gained an internship and completed her residency in Otolaryngology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDMJ). UMDMJ was the former state-run health sciences institution of New Jersey but has since merged with Rutgers University to form a new Rutgers School of Biomedical and Health Sciences.
She is a Fellow (FAAO-HNS) of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and she has been published in some of the leading medical journals including: The “July effect”: Outcomes in microvascular reconstruction during resident transitions; Risk Factors for Blood Transfusion with Neck Dissection; Age-Related Trends of Patients Undergoing Thyroidectomy: Analysis of US Inpatient Data from 2005 to 2013 and many more.
Additionally, Dr. Kalyoussef sits on the Governing Council of the Medical Staff of University Hospital, and is charged with making the voice of the hospital staff heard to the Administration of University Hospital, the Medical Executive Committee, and to the University Hospital Board of Directors.
