Dr. Al Fakir holds a Masters Degree in Orthodontics from the University of Alberta. He completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. In addition, he has a diploma of Health Service Administration from Dalhousie University, which helped strengthen his understanding of the importance of patient care and high-quality performance. Dr. Al Fakir’s educational background combined with his experience helped him in dealing with patients and people of various ages. His clinical training paid special attention to the utmost current theories of facial and smile aesthetics and interceptive treatment.
He achieved his Fellowship in Orthodontics by the Royal College of Dentists in Canada and is a proud member of the Canadian Association of Orthodontists, Canadian Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontics, Alberta Dental Association and the Alberta Society of Orthodontics. Additionally, he is on the Board of Directors for the Union of Medical Relief Organizations Canada. He also serves as a clinical instructor in the Department of Clinical Dentistry at the University of Alberta.
