He further honed his skills through specialized training in internal medicine, pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine at prestigious institutions such as the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center, Harvard School of Medicine, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, where he obtained his MBA with a focus on Healthcare Management. Dr. Zgoda has also completed the Executive Leadership for Healthcare Professionals Course at Cornell University College of Human Ecology and Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. 

From October 2020 to July 2023, Dr. Zgoda was the Robert Craig Chairman of Medicine at Dignity Health and concurrently served as the Academic Chairman of Medicine at Creighton University School of Medicine in Phoenix, Arizona.
