Dr. Paschold is a fellowship-trained hematologist-oncologist who is a part of the team of professionals at Virginia Oncology Associates. He sees patients at the offices in Williamsburg and Norfolk (Lake Wright), Virginia.

Virginia Oncology Associates is an oncology and hematology practice of physicians, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer and blood disorders. With a broad educational background, Dr. Paschold graduated with his medical degree from the Wake Forest School of Medicine in 1997. He then went on to perform his internship, residency in internal medicine, and fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at the University of Virginia School of Medicine Health System.

Following his training, he attained board certification in internal medicine, hematology, and medical oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

In addition to being a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), Dr. Paschold is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, the Society of Integrative Oncology, and the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. 

Throughout his extensive career, he has been involved in various research studies and publications. He has also held multiple hospital leadership positions and is a graduate of the Medical Society of Virginia’s Claude Moore Leadership Institute. 

Hematology is the branch of medicine concerned with the study of the cause, prognosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases related to blood. Oncology is a branch of medicine that deals with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer. A hematologist-oncologist is a physician who specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of cancer, malignant blood diseases such as leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma, and blood disorders such as iron-deficiency anemia, clotting abnormalities, hemophilia, and sickle-cell disease.

An authority in his field, Dr. Paschold has received a variety of awards, including Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2014, 2015), Patients’ Choice Award (2016), and On-Time Doctor Award (2016). He was also invited into the Life Sciences Honors Program at North Carolina State University.
