Throughout my years of practice, I’ve consistently prioritized personalized, compassionate care. I’m inspired by my patients’ resilience and make it my mission to offer hope and reassurance in times of distress,” she said. “While I embrace advancements in technology, such as MRI-guided treatment and adaptive treatment planning, my foremost responsibility is to my patients. They are human beings who deserve respect, kindness, empathy, and clear communication.”

Dr. Dragovic earned her Medical Degree from the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Medicine in 1977 and completed her postgraduate training in radiation oncology at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, in 1983. Since joining Henry Ford Hospital’s Radiation Oncology Department in 1985, Dr. Dragovic has dedicated her career to providing exceptional care. Her leadership roles include serving as Medical Director of the Cancer Care Center at Macomb from 1996 to 2000 and leading the Edith McNaughton Ford Cancer Center at Cottage since 2000. She has also served as a reviewer for notable medical journals such as Cancer and Radiotherapy and Oncology.

Having made significant research contributions, Dr. Dragovic has focused on altered fractionation regimens in radiation therapy, hyperthermia, and genetic biomarkers of human squamous cell carcinoma. Her work has led to impactful findings in cancer treatment methodologies, serving as principal investigator or co-investigator on several notable studies.

When asked about the emotional toll of treating cancer patients for decades, Dr. Dragovic expressed that the deep gratification of seeing patients return years later, or witnessing someone transition from pain to pain-free living, is what fuels her passion. “It’s not just about the treatments; it’s about the relationships we build and the lives we touch,” she remarked.

Outside of her professional achievements, Dr. Dragovic enjoys swimming, walking, reading, and traveling, with France being her favorite vacation destination. Her holistic approach to wellness and her dedication to her patients reflect her belief that healthcare is not only about treating diseases but also about nurturing the human spirit.
