Growing up in San Gabriel in a large family, at a very early age, Dr. Stewart knew he wanted to be a physician and began his journey by entering the University of Southern California for pre-med. He graduated from Gonzaga University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and went on to attend Graduate School at the University of California, Davis to complete his studies in Behavioral Science. He soon traveled to Manila, Philippines to attend one of the most prestigious schools of Medicine in Southern Asia, the University of Santo Tomas.
Subsequent to his training, Dr. Stewart attained board certification in internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being.
On a more personal note, Dr. Stewart met his wife, Emma, in the Philippines whom he has been happily married to for over three decades. He has three children, two girls and one boy.
Outside of work, he enjoys playing golf and hunting.
