Pertaining to his educational background, Dr. Chelnis earned his medical degree from the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences He then went on to complete his internship in internal medicine at Carney Hospital, followed by his residency in ophthalmology at S.U.N.Y. Buffalo Hospital.
The doctor is board certified in oculofacial plastic surgery and ophthalmology, having completed his fellowships in ocular plastic surgery at Vanderbilt University and the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Moreover, he is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, the New York State Ophthalmological Society, the North American Skull Base Society, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Academy of Ophthalmic Executives.
