At the start of his academic career, Dr. DeJesus received his pharmacy degree from St. John’s University in New York. He then went on to graduate with his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in 1987, after which he completed his podiatric surgical residency in West Haven, Connecticut in 1989. 

With an unwavering commitment to his speciality, the doctor is board-certified through the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS). The mission of the ABFAS is to protect and improve the health and welfare of the public by the advancement of the art and science of podiatric surgery.

Among his professional affiliations, Dr. DeJesus is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, a Fellow of the American College of Foot Orthopedics, the President-Elect of the Connecticut Podiatric Medical Association, and a member of the American Society of Podiatric Surgeons.
