A Fellow of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, he is past President of the American Society for Cosmetic Dermatology and Aesthetic Surgery, past President of the Florida Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, past Co-Chairman for the National Council for Skin Cancer Prevention, and past member of the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Dermatology.
A frequent speaker at medical symposiums both in the United States and abroad, Dr. Spencer is a sought after educator for other physicians to learn cosmetic and laser surgery, as well as the author of over 60 scientific publications. He is past Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology and Editor-in-Chief of the journal Cosmetic Dermatology, and on the editorial boards of Dermatologic Surgery, Aesthetic Buyers Guide, The Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology, and Contemporary Dermatology.
