Dr. Weisman completed her undergraduate degree from Brown University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in English literature and graduated magna cum laude with honors. She received a fellowship to study in Cairo, Egypt at the American University in Cairo, and then came home to attend Emory University Medical School, where she graduated with her Medical Degree in 1998, giving her over two decades of experience in her field. Dr. Weisman stayed at Emory to complete her internship and residency in dermatology. She is certified by the American Board of Dermatology.
Dr. Weisman is an expert in all areas of dermatologic disease, but she has a special interest in immunology with a focus on autoimmune disease and inflammatory disease. She has researched, lectured and published on a wide variety of severe inflammatory skin diseases, including psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, lupus and hidradenitis suppurativa. She is unique among dermatologists in her collaborative approach to treating skin disease and works closely with a team of doctors to coordinate care and ensure the best outcomes for her patients. Skin disease is not just skin deep. In addition to academic work, Dr. Weisman is the author of the memoir: As I Live and Breathe: notes of a patient doctor, and the novel, We Are Gathered.
