Over the years, Mercyhealth Hospital and Medical Center-Harvard has grown from a small community hospital to a dynamic and comprehensive health care campus serving the region. It is Illinois’ first and only critical access hospital to be certified as an Acute Stroke Ready Hospital by The Joint Commission.
Throughout his academic career, Jarrett earned his nursing degree from the Southwest Wisconsin Technical College in Fennimore, Wisconsin in 2000. Many years later, in 2017, he graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from Capella University in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
A member of the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses and the Association for Operations Management, he attributes his success to having always loved the medical field, being able to provide quality patient care and safety, always learning, as well as continuously striving to make a difference.
A registered nurse (RN) is a nurse who has graduated from a nursing program and met the requirements outlined by a country, state, province or similar licensing body to obtain a nursing license. RNs fulfill a variety of job duties. In addition to their primary role in treating and caring for patients, their responsibilities also include educating patients and the public about a variety of medical conditions, as well as providing emotional support and advice to the families of their patients. Other RN job functions include leadership, research, performing diagnostic tests and analyzing results, operating medical equipment, administering medications, recording patients’ symptoms and medical histories, and assisting with patient rehabilitation and follow-up.
On a more personal note, Jarrett is married. He has served in the United States Army.
