A devoted pediatrician, Dr. Belasco is an attending physician in the Cancer Center at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Her areas of special interest include pediatric brain and spine tumors, neurofibromatosis, supportive care, and vascular and lymphatic malformations.

Subsequent to her education, the doctor attained board certification in pediatric hematology/oncology and pediatrics through the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.
In good standing with a number of professional organizations, Dr. Belasco is an active member of the Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, the Neurofibromatosis Consortium, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Active in academia, she serves as a Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.
An avid researcher, Dr. Belasco’s neuro-oncology brain tumors, neurofibromatosis and related tumors, and investigational therapies for refractory brain tumors and for progressive, severe plexiform neurofibromas.
Pediatric oncology is a medical specialty focused on the care of children with cancer. A pediatric hematologist/oncologist is a physician who has special training and experience to diagnose and treat blood disorders and cancers in children, teens, and young adults.
