Get to know Registered Nurse Jeanetta Taylor, who serves patients in Stonewall, Louisiana.
Jeanetta is a registered nurse helping the lower socioeconomic and disabled community at her private practice, The Heart of Nursing. Her areas of specialization include critical care nursing, intensive care medicine, step down, medical/surgical nursing, and home health care.
Located in Stonewall, Louisiana, The Heart of Nursing is an independent nursing contract service for Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS). It embodies the quality of care of nursing services that the community deserves while specializing in elderly and impairment (physically and mentally) care.
Growing up, Jeanetta was placed in a position to help her great grandmother after she had multiple strokes and was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. She cared for her until her death, all the while learning meaningful skills that are needed in the basics of healthcare. With that experience, she understood her purpose in life would be helping others.
A graduate of Red River High School, she earned her Associate of Science in Nursing degree from Northwestern State University in December of 2014. She then served as a charge nurse on the Stepdown Unit while attending school for her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
For four and a half years, Jeanetta remained at Northwestern State University before deciding to move to the Home Health Department and then to Flexpool to gain travel nursing experience between Texas and Louisiana. In October of 2021, she graduated with her Master of Science in Nursing degree with a focus on Public Health from Grand Canyon University.
Remaining up to date in her field, Jeanetta is an active member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, the American Nursing Association, and the National Nurses in Business Association.
Furthermore, she holds certificates in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS – not intended for postnominal use), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Striving to make a difference in patients’ lives, Jeanetta ensures and pursues preventative maintenance care. She feels that every patient should have a personalized health plan.
A Registered Nurse (RN) is a nurse who has graduated from a nursing program and met the requirements outlined by a country, state, province or similar licensing body to obtain a nursing license. RNs fulfill a variety of job duties. In addition to their primary role in treating and caring for patients, their responsibilities also include educating patients and the public about a variety of medical conditions, as well as providing emotional support and advice to the families of their patients. Other RN job functions include leadership, research, performing diagnostic tests and analyzing results, operating medical equipment, administering medications, recording patients’ symptoms and medical histories, and assisting with patient rehabilitation and follow-up.
