Dr. Gladden is an interventional cardiologist who has treated thousands of patients for cardiovascular disease, instead of intervening late in the course of the disease when stents and bypass are the only options. He is the founder of Apex HHPO –  a comprehensive concierge medical program individually tailored to optimize a patient’s health and human performance. This multifaceted and comprehensive integrative approach has ultimately led to the effective arrest and, in many cases, reversal of heart disease.

The vision of Apex is based on Dr. Gladden’s personal passion for integrative medicine, age management, health, and human performance optimization. He is actively dedicated to every participant’s success in Dallas, Texas.

In 1997, Dr. Gladden founded Advanced Heart Care in Plano, Texas. For nearly two decades, Advanced Heart Care has been providing state-of-the-art cardiac care and improving the level of cardiology services available in the metroplex, as well as surrounding communities. Utilizing leading diagnostics and technology, Advanced Heart Care offers patients the highest level of cardiovascular care they expect and deserve. 

Dr. Gladden is currently the Director of Heart Attack and Stroke Prevention and Cardiac Rehabilitation at Baylor Scott & White The Heart Hospital – Plano, which he co-founded in 2004. Baylor Scott & White The Heart Hospital – Plano offers advanced, comprehensive cardiac and vascular services. The mission of the hospital is to provide safe, quality, compassionate care to guests.

Dr. Gladden earned his medical degree from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University in 1982. He then went on to complete his residency and internship in internal medicine at Case Western Reserve School of Medicine, followed by his fellowship training in cardiology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. 

Dr. Gladden is a member of the American Heart Association, the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association, the Dallas County Medical Society, and the Texas Medical Association.

Dr. Gladden is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Fellowship is one of the most distinguished designations the college offers its members. It is the ultimate recognition of professional achievement.

Dr. Gladden is board-certified in both internal medicine and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. Dr. Gladden’s work is published in multiple medical journals. He is also a consultant for multiple cardiovascular projects, programs, and medical device development.

Interventional cardiology is a branch of cardiology that deals specifically with the catheter based treatment of structural heart diseases. The main advantages of using this approach include the avoidance of scars and pain, and long post-operative recovery. As an interventional cardiologist, Dr. Gladden maintains clinical focus on conditions such as heart attack/acute coronary syndrome, angiography, cardiac catheterization, cardiovascular disease, and transcatheter aortic valve replacement. 

In his spare time, Dr. Gladden enjoys mountain biking, snowboarding, playing the guitar, and living the Apex lifestyle. He continues to explore and test the reaches of the human aging complex and what can be done to change the reversible decline into aging.
