Get to know Physician Assistant, Jenifer D. Lee, who serves patients in Jacksonville, Florida.

Ms. Jenifer Lee is a highly skilled and dedicated member of the clinical staff at Park Avenue Dermatology. Since joining the team in November 2012, immediately after graduating from Nova Southeastern University, she has been an invaluable asset to the practice. Her exceptional competence and ability to quickly absorb and apply knowledge made her a sought-after candidate following her clinical rotations under the tutelage of Dr. George J. Schmieder. Her expertise lies in general dermatology, and she is highly proficient in utilizing the Fraxel laser.

In regards to her educational background, she completed her undergraduate studies at Florida State University in 2008, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Science with a minor in Chemistry. During her time in Tallahassee, she worked as a medical assistant in a dermatologist’s office, where her passion for dermatology first emerged (2008-2010).

Motivated by her interest, she pursued acceptance into several Physician Assistant schools and was eventually accepted into the esteemed PA Program at Nova Southeastern University, where she remained dedicated to specializing in dermatology. Additionally, she provides exceptional support to Park Avenue Dermatology’s two Mohs surgeons.

Subsequent to her education, Ms. Lee’s skills and commitment to patient care have earned her certification by the National Commission for the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) which is the only certifying organization for Physical Assistants in the United States. Established as a not-for-profit organization in 1974, NCCPA provides certification programs that reflect standards for clinical knowledge, clinical reasoning and other medical skills and professional behaviors required upon entry into practice and throughout the careers of PAs.

Continuously advancing her efforts, the doctor is an active member of prestigious professional organizations such as the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, the American Academy of Physician Assistants, and the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants.

A Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) is a health care practitioner who practices medicine in collaboration with physicians. They examine patients, prescribe medicine, and order diagnostic tests. In most cases, they work under the supervision of physicians or surgeons, but they can work more independently in some states, rural areas, and inner-city areas, consulting with physicians only when they need help with cases.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Ms. Lee enjoys various activities in her spare time. She finds pleasure spending time with her husband, and their Boykin spaniel pup (Bobo), fishing, and continues to work on her golf game.
