At the start of her academic career, Dr. Curtis graduated with her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 1999. She then went on to perform her residency in internal medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center in 2002, and her fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at the University of Pittsburgh in 2005. 

In 2010, she returned to Atlanta from Connecticut to be closer to her family. She joined the staff at Metro Atlanta Gastroenterology and Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital in October 2013, where she has served as the Chief of Gastroenterology since January of 2017. 

With over two decades of experience, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine, gastroenterology, and hepatology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Practicing medicine in Georgia, Dr. Curtis is affiliated with Emory University Hospital Midtown, Emory St. Joseph’s Hospital, Northside Hospital Gwinnett, Northside Hospital Forsyth, and Northside Hospital Atlanta.
