Dr. Cotliar is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO). He specializes in both manual and laser-assisted cataract surgery, refractive surgery, such as LASIK AND PRK, and in premium IOL technology for cataract surgery (the type of IOL implanted will make a difference in a patient’s ability to see after surgery). Furthermore, he is certified in all of the MIGS (Minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries), including iStent, ECP, and trabectome, which are effective surgeries for mild-to-moderate glaucoma.
Dr. Cotliar completed his medical school training at Albany Medical College in 2008. He then completed his 3-year ophthalmology residency at the Montefiore Medical Center of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2012, followed by a year of training in glaucoma eye surgery at the prestigious University of California at Irvine.
