Dr. Hooper is a board certified and fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee joint replacement surgery. Her role as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Stanford University School of Medicine is complemented by her leadership in the outpatient joint replacement program at the Stanford Outpatient Surgery Center in Redwood City, California.

She went to medical school at the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and was named a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. She then completed her orthopedic residency training at the prestigious New York University Hospital for Joint Diseases in Manhattan. In residency, she mentored local female high school students interested in STEM as part of the Perry Initiative program, worked with local surgeons in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and received excellent training in all facets of orthopedic surgery and patient care.

Subsequently, Dr. Hooper completed a fellowship at Stanford University, where she obtained additional training in hip and knee joint replacement. She then began her practice at Kaiser Permanente, where she gained experience in safe and effective management of same-day total joint replacement patients.

Board certified in orthopedic surgery, Dr. Hooper is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons. It is a member of the American Board of Medical Specialties.

Among her professional affiliations, Dr. Hooper is a member of the American Academy of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and the Ruth Jackson Orthopedic Society for female surgeons.
